Fanuc Alpha Series Spindle Amplifier Modules (SPM) are designed to use with Fanuc CNC controls. Alpha SPMs communicate with Fanuc CNC controls via proprietary serial communication via JA7B (JA7A for the 2nd Spindle).A variety of spindle feedback options are available, such as position coder, magnetic sensor, proximity sensor, etc.

Spindle amplifier module (SPM)
The spindle amplifier module (SPM) is used to drive a spindle motor.
A SPM is selected according to the spindle motor connected to the SPM.
There are three types of spindle amplifier module, as follows:
<1> Spindle amplifier module (SPM) This module drives a spindle motor of
the 200-V input series.
<2> Spindle amplifier module (SPMC) This module drives the αCi series
spindle motor.
<3> Spindle amplifier module (SPM-HV) This module drives a spindle motor
of the 400V input series.

(B) Output: Numeric value representing the 30-minutes rating of a matching
standard motor (αi) in kW
